Weekly Gatherings
The purpose of weekly gatherings is to provide a safe place for relationships to grow and faith to deepen. Youth need a regular opportunity to connect with each other and with adult volunteers/mentors, and Forum and WNL are meant to fill that need. This is the place where lives are enriched and transformed!

Sunday “Coffee, Jesus, and Me”—this is our gathering on Sunday mornings during the Sunday School hour (9:45-10:45). We
hang out together in the Luther House as we enjoy a time of sharing, praying, and Christian conversation. This is not a class with lectures, but more of a discussion group where we can learn from and support each other. Drinks from Pray-a-Latte are welcome! Other Sunday morning options include attending the adult PACE presentations or helping teach Sunday School for the younger kids.

Weekly Youth Gatherings— Each Tuesday we gather to fellowship, serve, have fun and grow in faith. There is time for checking in with each other, praying for each other, getting into God’s Word as we explore various topics youth are facing, and honest sharing. This is the place to invite friends, as we discuss topics that YOU have chosen, from a Christian perspective. We change our format and focus each week to keep things interesting! In an important way, Weekly Gathering is the core of the Highers Youth Program at Central, so we want you to be a part of us!

On Tuesdays, 5:30 LH Basement opens, 6:00 Dinner, 6:45-8:00 Youth Group in the Luther House. On Fridays, we bring Pizza Lunches to students at area high schools. We’ll chat and pray and nourish our faith as we nourish our tummies!

And there’s MORE!
Throughout the year, the “Highers” gather for fun nights, service projects, retreats and lock-ins. You might join us serving lunch to the homeless, rafting on the Deschutes River, playing in the snow at Mt Bachelor, or playing a round of midnight Sardines. Each summer we take a week long trip somewhere exciting. In 2012 we'll go to the ELCA National Youth Gathering in New Orleans followed by a few days of construction work in Mississippi, July 17-26. Other summers we go an outdoor adventure (2013) or an intensive service project (2014). Take a look at the "Central Lutheran High School Youth Ministry Booklet" for more information.
