Central owns and oversees the operation of Christus House which is across the street from the University of Oregon and provides housing in a community setting for up to 25 Christian college and university students.
What is "Christus House?" Christus House (CH) is a co-educational, Christian living community. The supportive environment provides students with the opportunity to share their Christian faith and celebrate God's love. CH is a ministry of Central Lutheran Church (CLC). The congregation of CLC believes in the outreach to students and commits to the spiritual growth and support of CH residents. College Bible study is held each week; all are welcome.
Where is Christus House? Christus House is located on the southwest corner of the University of Oregon campus. It is close to campus classrooms and athletic facilities, with shops and grocery stores nearby. The neighborhood is a blend of established residential homes and fraternity/sorority houses. Central Lutheran Church is directly across the street and welcomes the residents to join in worship, church activities, and social events.
Why choose Christus House? Christus House combines the best aspects of dormitory and independent living. While each resident has a private room, s/he participates in community House events such as retreats, Bible studies, work parties, and meetings. Each individual room is furnished and includes high-speed internet access. Laundry facilities are on-site. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, and each student is provided with storage space. The dining, living, and recreation areas are comfortably furnished for relaxed, enjoyable, quiet or social time.
Who may apply for residency? Christus House residents are Christian, undergraduate and graduate students, who commit to residence in the House for the academic year through signing a contract.
