Campus Ministry at Central Lutheran Church
Christus House (christushouse.org)
Christus House is a residential community for up to 24 students of the University of Oregon and Lane Community College. In a context of faithful belonging, residents celebrate “life together” through weekly meals, meetings, and study together, and share responsibility for their household. They are equipped and empowered by competent, compassionate leaders to grow as servant leaders in their world.

Hearth & Table
A new program initiated in 2018, Hearth & Table is Central’s response to the sharp rise in student food insecurity. In ecumenical collaboration with our neighbor Episcopal Campus Ministry and their Student Food Pantry, and as a agency partner of FOOD for Lane County, Central has organized a Thursday night meal program that is also so much more.
Students we serve are encouraged to sign up for a “community kitchen” experience (4:30-6:30pm) with Chef Ryan before one of our weekly meals to gain exposure to accessible, nutritious recipes, build confidence with cooking through experience, kitchen safety training, and the tricks of the trade, and of course to have fun! Students are also invited to pick up shifts in Central’s garden, which contributes produce to the program’s weekly meals.
Students who identify as food insecure are invited to the meal regardless of whether or not they choose to engage in the community kitchen or garden. Meals are served family-style at 6:30pm, and relationships are fostered to build strong, caring community.
