Children, Youth & Families

at Central

of skiing and fun in the snow.

Children and youth of all ages, along with their families, have a place at Central. In fact, we consider ourselves (never too young nor too old) to be part of God’s family, with all generations coming together for worship, education, service, and fun! We offer many different ministries and activities – something for everyone! Just take a look and see some of the ways children, youth and families can be involved at Central. Also: check out the church calendar for a complete schedule of events.

Fall 2019 – Spring 2020

The Nursery (18 month – 3 years old) operates from September – May and is open on Sundays from 7:45 a.m.  – 12:15 p.m. At Central Lutheran, we celebrate the presence of all ages in worship – your children are always welcome! We also understand that sometimes caregivers serve or engage in worship in ways that require their full attention. If that is true for you, our qualified and caring nursery staff are here to keep your little ones safe and entertained.

Godly Play (3 – 8 years old) is a Montessori-based curriculum that is more than your grandparent’s Sunday school program! It enters into our heart’s innermost search for faith, to freely and openly wonder about God and God’s promises to us. Godly Play allows each child to meet the stories of the Bible with creative imagination and to absorb God’s promise of unconditional love.  Godly Play runs from September – May on Sunday mornings between our worship services from 9:45 – 10:45am.

Engage (8 – 11 years old) is our program designed for 3rd – 5th graders where they will begin to engage further with what the 10 Commandments, Worship, the sacraments, and the Apostle’s Creed mean in their lives today as they prepare themselves to enter into Confirmation. Come Engage with us Sunday mornings from 9:45 – 10:45 throughout the program year from September – May.

The Confirmation Program (typically Middle School aged youth) is an Affirmation of Baptism process. This sacred tradition is one in which we guide and educate middle schoolers to understand the historic faith and find ways to practice it in their daily living. Email Nick for more details.

High School Youth Group provides an opportunity to connect with peers, grow in faith, and serve Christ’s church.  Join us on Sunday mornings for worship and education by helping with the children in Godly Play); for youth group on Wednesday nights (usually twice a month); for monthly fun activities and service projects; ski trips in the winter and mission trips in the summer.

Together Tuesdays brings the whole church family together for a meal from 5:15-6:15pm with a variety of activities for all ages throughout the program year from Sept-May. There’s literally something for everyone–such as Music Together for Children (0-5) accompanied with a parent or grandparent and Children’s Choir (5-10 year olds) both of which meet from 6:00-6:45pm; Confirmation Class for middle school youth; and education classes and forums for Youth and Adults.
