Children, Youth & Families
All children, youth and families have a place at Central. We have different ministries and activities just for them! Just take a look at what we have in store this fall!
The Nursery Program (18 month – 3 years old) was developed for parents of our choir to have a safe space where they could bring their children as they worshiped and served God. Our nursery makes its return September 17th and is open from 7:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Bring your toddlers and young ones to enjoy safe and sacred time with our fully-trained nursery staff.
Godly Play (3 – 8 years old) is a Montessori based curriculum that is more than your Grandfather’s Sunday school program! It enters into our heart’s innermost search for faith, to freely and openly wonder about God and God’s promises to us. Godly Play allows each child to meet the stories of the Bible with creative imagination and to absorb God’s promise of unconditional love. We encourage you to explore more about this international program! www.godlyplay.org
Engage (8 – 11 years old) is our program designed for 3rd – 5th graders where they will begin to engage further with what the 10 Commandments, Worship, the sacrements, and the Apostle’s Creed mean in their lives today as they prepare themselves to enter into Confirmation. Come Engage with us Sundays from 9:45 – 10:45.
The Confirmation (11 – 14 years old) Program or the Affirmation of Baptism process is the sacred tradition in which we help guide and educate middle schoolers both to understand and decide for themselves their place in God’s kingdom and how best they can serve their community through God.
High School (14 – 18 years old) need a place to get away? We got just the thing. Join us Sunday mornings at 9:45 for breakfast treats and games of Splash (don’t worry we will teach you) and on the second Wednesday of the month at 6:00pm for youth group with Emmaus & United Lutheran at 2230 Washington St. Let us know if you need a ride!
