We have a new website!
Thank you for your interest in Christus House. For the most current information and the opportunity to apply, please visit our new site:
Christus House is an intentional living community for up to 24 graduate or undergraduate students committed to a year of Christian faith and life. Located at 1834 Potter St, near the southwest corner of the University of Oregon campus, it is close to campus classrooms and athletic facilities, with shops and grocery stores nearby. The neighborhood is a blend of established residential homes and Greek housing. Central Lutheran Church is directly across the street and welcomes the residents to join in worship, church activities, and social events.
Who may apply for residency?
Christus House residents undergraduate and graduate students whose commitment to residence in the House for the academic year also includes a commitment to their fellow residents and growth in Christian faith and life. Further information may be requested by contacting Sister Clare at email@example.com. Upon receipt of your application, Sister Clare will contact you about next steps, which include a coffee conversation, tour of Christus House, and background check before final acceptance.
As a ministry of Central Lutheran Church, Christus House is also what is known as “Reconciling in Christ.” This designation indicates our commitment to safety for and celebration of all children of God in their various identities (ethnic/racial, gender/sex/sexuality, ability, economic status, etc). While we know sin causes us to stumble in achieving the fullness of this vision, we are actively engaged in educating ourselves and always being made new in this commitment to all God’s beloved.
Admission is ongoing unless our maximum occupancy has been met.
NOTE: The University of Oregon has initiated a freshman live-on requirement effective Fall 2017. University Housing has indicated that there is a process in place for individuals to apply for an exemption to this requirement. We recommend talking to your housing or admissions representative about this process as soon as possible. You can find out more about the freshman live-on requirement here.
